Dependable Felons
ENTERTAINMENT WITH A RECORD
The Dependable Felons are James Chupka and Matthew Meyer. They met in a rat infested row home in North Philadelphia in the winter of 2009. After finishing a bottle of whiskey, the two gentlemen agreed they were weird enough to work together.
Three years later they continue to produce irreverent, loin clenching comedy for both the web and the stage. Their shows combine innovative live material with stylized video content to take audiences on a bizarre journey into the minds of these two madmen.
They have appeared at the UCB Theatre and Peoples Improv Theater in NYC, Boston Improv Festival, Shadowbox Sketch Festival, Helium Comedy Club's 9th annual Sketch Comedy Competition (where they finished 1st), Philly Sketchfest, and various other festivals and venues throughout the country.
Their short film, Three's A Crowd, was awarded best writing at the 2010 Philadelphia 48 Hour Film Project.
The Felons currently reside in Brooklyn, where they're working their asses off on multiple projects.

Chupka
James Chupka makes up one third of the Dependable Felons,
but without him they would just be dependable. He has
directed, filmed and edited all of the felon's filmed
content, directed their multimedia stage shows, and
spearheaded their relocation from Philadelphia to Brooklyn.
He is currently directing and editing a full length
documentary for the Brooklyn band, Backwords. He has gained
a reputation for taking a comedic sketch and elevating it to
an artful piece of filmmaking, blending styles seamlessly.
He's sometimes found scratching out new logos and posters
for bands and small businesses, enjoying a fine brew with
friends or slinging gin and tonics behind the bar, but no
matter where you find him, he's always setting the stage for
a good time. Check out his work on the felons site, as well
as, http://www.vimeo.com/chupka/videos.
